Medical community and government in February - October 1917: the problem of military medicine reforms

The study considers the collaboration between Russian medical community and authorities on the military medicine management transformation in the period of the Provisional Government because of the growing negative health trends and the spread of social diseases. The relevance of the research is determined by the lack of historical studies on this issue and the medical reforms today. The paper examines health councils activities when developing management reform projects in the field of military medicine. The issue is investigated in the context of social and economic development of society. The research is based on the Russian State Military Historical Archive and narrative sources. The author reveals the main aspects of creating a new management system of military medicine. The data on the projects to reform the pre-revolutionary health care system and their practical implementation are introduced.
