The article considers the image of "plakun-grass" in folklore and in the poetry of A. Blok and N. Klyuev, which is a sacred symbol, the embodiment of death, an attribute of funeral rites. In folk-poetic representations of "plakun-grass" attributed to the ability to give consolation to the mourners, protect the line between worlds, earthly and otherworldly, between life and death, momentary and eternal.
