Identification of risk groups for the development of acute cerebrovacular complications in severe COVID-19

In the context of COVID-19, stroke has proven to be a relatively common complication. The presence of cerebrovascular disease is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in patients with severe COVID-19. The article presents a literature review on the risk of developing cerebrovascular complications in severe COVID-19. To date, according to the available literature data, there is no consensus regarding the risk of acute thrombotic cerebrovascular complications (ischemic stroke, cerebral venous thrombosis) in severe COVID-19.
