Declension in the Chirkati vernacular under the Avarian language

Бесплатный доступ

The paper considered the structural features specific for forming the declension in the still unexplored Chirkati vernacular within the Salatavi dialect of the Northern dialect group of the Avar language. The Chirkati vernacular ranges with the Salatavi dialect of the Northern dialect, which underlies the Avar literary standard of language along with the Khunzakh and the Eastern dialects. Therefore, the study of the Northern dialect’ vernaculars matters a lot for adjusting grammatic forms (the grammar paradigm?) and the categories of the Avar literary standard of language. Although the vernacular considered along with the other dialects and vernaculars underlay the literary standard of language, nevertheless there are some peculiarities in phonetics and morphology. This paper examined the dropping of a vowel and/ or consonant(s) when forming the declension in the Chirkati vernacular within the Salatavi dialect of the Avar language that is quite common for the Northern dialect.
