A synthesis of the currently available scientific literature in the eLIBRARY.ru and ScinceDirect.com databases on higher education amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is presented. Based on the analysis, a classification of scientific articles was proposed. It falls into four thematic blocks: the managerial block, the socio-economic block, the methodological block and the psychological block. Most elaborate aspects of the study of the coronacrisis in education have been identified, such as teachers' and students' reactions to the new terms of education, psychological challenges, methodological challenges, and the digital divide. The limitations of the existing research have been explained, which include the insufficient elaboration of the theoretical apparatus and the minimum amount of empirical research on the experience of using certain pedagogical technologies in educational process during the coronavirus pandemic. Overall, it is noted that the scientific literature reflects serious work by scientists to identify the impact of the pandemic on the educational process, with findings that can serve as a basis for future management decisions in this area.
