Higher education: transformational processes and trends of its development

The realities of the 21st century show that there are some transformational processes in all spheres of life and the system of higher education is not an exception. This century can be called the century of scientific and technological progress, where almost every day a novelty or new project is recorded. Without a doubt, knowledge which is capable to respond the demands and challenges of modern society is of particular value. The development of higher education in Russia cannot occur outside the global processes and requests from the global labor market, economical and social changes. Some global trends of development of higher education system together with trends in the same sphere in Russia point out the necessity of transformational processes where internationalization is the optimal vector for the development of higher education.
