Challenges and strategies for ensuring financial stability in the Chinese banking sector in the face of global instability

The article is devoted to the analysis of key challenges for the financial stability of China's banking sector in the current conditions. Based on the analysis of corporate management of the Big Four banks, systemic barriers have been identified: strict government regulation that limits operational flexibility; foreign economic instability and geopolitical risks; and a high share of non-performing loans in the asset structure. The article explores the strategic responses of Chinese banks, including accelerated digital transformation, diversification of international partnerships, and active implementation of sustainable development principles. It has been proven that the ability of the banking system to adapt to challenges while maintaining state control is a key factor in its sustainability. The results of this study are valuable for developing strategies for the development of financial systems in turbulent conditions.
