Interaction of acetylsalicylic acid with purified human and rat globin in vitro was investigated. Rat globin can be modified with acetylsalicylic acid on aminoacid residues K17 and K57 in alpha subunit as well as on K96 in beta subunit. Human globin can be modified with acetylsalicylic acid on aminoacid residues K17, K41 and K57 in alpha subunit as well as on K18 and K121 in beta subunit.

Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, hemoglobin, adduct, mass-spectrometry, maldi-tof
