The Relationship of Socio-Psychological, Individual-Per sonal Attitudes and Emotional Characteristics in the Profile of the Personality of Terrorists

The article examines the socio-psychological and personal characteristics of persons who have committed crimes of a terrorist nature. The aim of the study was to study the personal characteristics of persons who committed terrorist crimes, to study the correlations of their socio-psychological and individual-personal characteristics. For this, the results of an experimental study of 32 people detained by Russian law enforcement agencies for the preparation and commission of terrorist crimes were analyzed. The results of the study showed that the anti-suicidal factor predominates in the personality structure of terrorists, while, despite the committed socially dangerous acts, the criminals showed higher scores for socio-psychological attitudes in the motivational-need sphere in the personality's orientations towards freedom and altruism.
