Introduction. In the modern world, among specialists there is a need to form the inner need for self-actualization and realization of one's own creative potential in personal growth. The objective is to actualize the problem of the relationship between the degree of self-actualization and the type of personality orientation of students of pedagogical university. Results and Discussion. The most important factors determining the effectiveness of work include mental health, high personal maturity, desire for self-actualization, manifested in striving to learn the world around us, the ability to take responsibility, reflection, self-acceptance and self-respect, as well as readiness for further development and self-improvement. These characteristics are more fully represented in a self-actualizing person. Conclusions. The correlation between separate indicators of self-actualization and types of personality orientation in groups with high and low degree of self-actualization was revealed.
