Interrelation of traditions and values of family education (diagnostic complex and research results)

From the standpoint of the axiological approach, the authors actualized the problems of family education, scientifically substantiated the relationship between traditions and family values, revealed a contradiction between the presence of diverse methods for studying the traditions of family education and the lack of a holistic research methodology that allows obtaining objective data on the nature and specifics of raising children from birth to adulthood in modern family. In the process of theoretical and experimental research, a diagnostic complex “Traditions and values of family education” was developed and tested, the basis of which is a questionnaire (35 questions for focus groups with the participation of 280 families and 15 questions for a large-scale study with the participation of 3301 families). It has been established that the diagnostic complex allows to systematize, integrate, modify scientific methods, research procedures and techniques. With the help of the developed tools, the goal was achieved - to study the traditions of family education in dynamically changing conditions (geopolitical, economic, sociocultural), the hypothesis of the interdependence of family values and traditions of family education was confirmed. The article presents statistically significant, representative results of the study, it is proved that the diagnostic complex, firstly, allows objectifying, interpreting, integrating, scaling the data obtained (theoretical and empirical), and secondly, it acts as the basis for developing a variable model of socio-pedagogical support parents in raising children on the basis of family traditions and values.
