Learning foreign languages is one of the most important conditions for the development and strengthening of interregional cooperation of scientific centers for technology and education. Particularly relevant in this regard are the problems of improving the study of foreign languages by specialists who will work with foreign colleagues. As a rule, they have very little time for language lessons. Therefore, the intensification of these activities is very important.
For continuous learning of foreign languages at present, should be provided with original textbooks, video project boards, access to the Internet, as well as technical dictionaries, so that the student can translate all technical terms. One of the main tasks that teachers of English solve in the preparation of competitive and capable technical specialists is to teach future specialists to read literature freely in the specialty and extract business information from it. The solution of this problem is impossible without the close cooperation of foreign languages with the majors, especially with the graduate departments.
Experience shows that the results are the best if this cooperation is carried out from the first days of the student's stay at the University. Success in the study of any subject is largely determined by the student's interest in it, those incentives that encourage him to work persistently and creatively. We considered the methods of English of our University uses to develop students 'incentives to study their subject. Among these methods we named the defense of final qualifying works in
English. In teaching English to technical students, this means that a foreign language specialist must be a linguist. He needs to be a linguist to understand the programs and textbooks written in the plan and on the basis of new achievements in linguistics, to properly organize the learning process and to create exercises and manuals more perfect as they improve to improve the English language of students of technical profile.
After deeply studying a foreign language, you can achieve the highest knowledge in the field of technical and other profile for the study of science in the future. Students gain significant experience in foreign language practice by preparing final qualifying works. Protection in a foreign language stimulates the student's interest in it due to the fact that it is one of the forms of practical use of his knowledge in this field. At the same time, preparing for such protection, the student selects and studies special literature in a foreign language: thanks to it professional knowledge of the future expert is enriched, at it skills of research work develop and deepen.
After all, in preparation for the defense, the student must find additional literature in English, make a bibliography and process this literature — analyze, take notes, write annotations, conduct comparative legal and terminological analysis. (solar radiation, intensification of heat transfer, hydraulics resistance, heat-wet-light mode, heat-mass-transfer process, coefficient of evolution, density, heat conductivity). A student may, on the recommendation to provide additional, brief contents of the degree project (work) in the English language that is made public on the protection and is accompanied by questions to the students in that language.
On this basis, we have left a special provision on the preparation and protection of coursework in English, which formulated the goals and objectives of this work, defined the duties of the second head (teacher of the Department of English), named the main stages of work, requirements for evaluation and design. Naturally, all the work is carried out in close contact with the main departments, which select the topics of diploma assignments based on the availability of special literature on a particular subject in the library. Be sure to take into account the desires, inclinations and abilities of each student, the level of his theoretical training, practical skills. The final qualifying work itself is written in Russian or in the native language.
On the defense of the graduate reports on his work in Russian and English: briefly outlines its essence, characterizes the most important results, draws conclusions and suggestions. He is also asked questions in two languages. Note that the structure included and taught English, many years working at this faculty. Experience has shown that students have considerable difficulties in preparing. It is not easy for them to clearly and briefly express their thoughts, summarize what they have read, and translate from Uzbek or from their native language into a foreign language. Often graduate students after writing the work do not have time to prepare and translate.
Therefore, we recommend them at the beginning of the thesis design to formulate goals, objectives, subject and method of research, the relevance and novelty of the problem, to prepare the main part of the WRC and translate it into a foreign language. At the same time, it helps students to get deeper into the subject of research, organizes their work. Of course, the defense of the final qualifying work in a foreign language is a time-consuming task, and only students who know special subjects well and speak English can cope with it. Protection of WRC in a foreign language is widely advertised, it invited Junior students, teachers of many departments, parents.
There are many difficulties in this case. However, foreign language teachers are not alone in its implementation. It helps us that the pre-diploma practice of students who are preparing to defend in a foreign language, is held annually in our University. Its staff very carefully and professionally help students to prepare, give lectures, recommend foreign literature, conduct consultations. Enthusiastically work and the students themselves. They feel how their knowledge is enriched and their interest in science develops. All this brings satisfaction, joy of creativity, selfconfidence. It is also important that the protection in English reveals both advantages and disadvantages in all training. Taking into account these advantages and disadvantages can improve the learning process. To complete the protection of the student, speaking English will become the technical specialist who will be able, working on production, to keep up with the latest technologies in their field in other economically developed industrialized countries.
