Based on a wide range of sources, the author analyzes the main trends in the dynamics of morbidity and mortality in the population of the Samara region in such a difficult and ambiguous period of Russian history as the “dashing nineties”. The article contains an analysis of the structure and general indicators of morbidity and mortality. The author argues that changes in morbidity and mortality in the Samara region were often more intense than in the Russian Federation as a whole, despite the fact that the trends are generally similar, which was due to the peculiarities of the region.
