The mystery of the Tabyn icon of the Mother of God

The article provides a brief overview of the history of the Tabyn Icon of the Mother of God, its transfer to the territory of China, and also makes an attempt, having collected the maximum number of versions about its possible location, to understand their reliability and draw a conclusion about the highest probability of its current location. It can be said with a high probability that there were two images: the original and the copy. Therefore, it is necessary to look for two icons and in different places. The article is an extended text of the report read at the VII scientific conference “Orthodoxy in the Far East”, which was held on November 17-18, 2022 in St. Petersburg at the St. Petersburg State University and the St. Petersburg Theological Academy.
