Regularities of the effect of pretreatment of roots of carrot and table beet electromagnetic fields and biological products stability in storage

The article presents the results of a study of the effect of pretreatment of carrots and red beet taproots with electromagnetic fields of extremely low frequency and bio-preparations on resistance to microbiological deterioration during storage. In particular, antagonistic activity of bio-preparations Ekstrasol, Vitaplan, Gamair, Baktofit and Alirin was determined against the most common root pathogens. The effect of treatment with the bio-preparation Baktofit on the diameter of lesion caused by Botrytis cinerea in the red beet taproots depending on conditions of storage was studied; the effect of treatment with ELF EMF on the diameter of lesion caused by Erwinia carotovora in the carrot taproots and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in the red beet taproots was also studied. In addition, the effect of sequential treatment of carrots and red beet taproots with ELF EMF and bio-preparations on the development of phytopathogens during storage was studied. The results of a study of the effect of treatment of carrots with ELF EMF and the bio-preparation BSKA-3 on changes in peroxidase activity during storage are also presented.
