"Occidentalism" and "orientalism" in civilization studies

The article discusses two interesting areas, similar in their ideological content, as long as they base on the idea of West's superiority over non-Western civilizations, which hinders the inter-civilizational dialogue in the modern world. The Western orientation of Russian society development imposed by developed countries hasn't caught on in Russia yet, that fact determines the relevance of the chosen topic.
