The origin of the domestic excursion business

Many studies of authors have been devoted to the history of tourism education in Russia, each of which focuses on one or another type of educational process. This article is also devoted to one of the directions of the history of tourist education - excursion, which was not fully distinguished by other authors as an independent direction of research and is very much in demand in connection with the development of domestic tourism. In the article, the author made an attempt to bring together the socio-political and historical prerequisites for the excursion business development in Russia of the pre-revolutionary period. Highlighting this page of history, the author shows that during this period the base of modern excursion education was created. The appeal to the question of the formation of Russian excursion education in the historical context is connected with the need to choose the most correct system of training guides in our time. The analysis of the long historical path of formation of this important direction of tourist activity with its positive and erroneous examples can help us in creating our own professional school for the training of guides and guides-interpreters. Based on this hypothesis, the study is aimed at showing the influence of socio-political and historical prerequisites on the development of excursion education in Russia. The author chose the use of a historiographical approach in the study as the methodological basis of the work. The materials of the article should be used in the educational process of professional training of guides and in scientific research.
