This article dwells on the study of international experience in legal regulation of the possibility to exercise medical intervention indispensable for life saving, based on the council of physicians’ decision (or consulting with other physicians). For this particular purpose the author explores different legislative approaches adopted by the countries belonging both to Romano- Germanic (the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Serbia), and Anglo-Saxon (the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Australia) law systems. The author arrives at a conclusion that the reviewed procedure of medical involvement, necessary for life saving, could be desirable as it provides for maximum promptitude and, at the same time due consideration of the opinion of several specialists.
