Difficulties with speech production and specific features of their compensation of the speaker with cognitive disfunction

The article deals with the results of analyzing the speech mistakes of the observee Michael R. (20 years) with cognitive disfunction as a result of the received heavy brain injury. It is shown that the most significant source of the difficulty with speech production for a person with heavy cognitive disfunction is the extract of the unit of the mental lexicon. The author introduces the term “compensatory word formation”.
