"Green" bonds as a tool for financing environmental projects in the Russian Federation

The article examines the meaning and characteristics of "green" bonds as an instrument of financing environmentally-oriented projects and industries. Attention is paid to the concept of "green" bonds and the requirements for issuing such bonds under Russian law. The experience of foreign countries in providing state support for the issuance of "green" bonds is investigated, as well as individual support measures for Russian issuers of "green" bonds are considered. The paper substantiates the idea of the potential for issuing state "green" bonds, including in the Chelyabinsk region, to attract investments in the field of environmentally significant projects and proposes certain measures aimed at its implementation. The author concludes that there is a further need for state support for the development of the institution of "green" bonds in the Russian Federation.
