"Women's question" in the works of sisters Bronte and Marko Vovchok

The article deals with the investigation of typological common features which unite the sisters Bronte's novels and the literary works of Maria Vil-inskaya-Markovich on the levels of problems, theme, plot and images. The prominent common feature of the literary works of the above-mentioned women writers is the problem of women's emancipation. Their heroines are intelligent self-possessed women who strive to prove themselves in the men's world.
