Fatty-acid composition of castor seed oil of collection samples. Sviridov A. A., Shvedov I. V., and L. R. Ovcharova. "OIL CROPS" Scientific bulletin, VNIIMK, 2005, is. 2 (133) It is shown that the biggest content of ricinoleic acid - about 86.8 %, and the lowest coefficient of the acid variation - 5.3% are in castor oil of collection samples. Content of saturated acids (palmitic and stearic acids) is 1.1 and 1.2%, respectively. Total content of unsaturated acids (oleic, linoleic, and linolinic) is 10.9 %. It is established that oleic and linoleic acid content decreases with increasing of ricinoleic acid content in castor seed oil. Correlation coefficient between oil content of seeds and ricinoliec acid content is small and equal to r = -0.001 %. It allows developing castor varieties with increased ricinoleic acid content in oil without lowring of seed oil content.
