The topic of small local communities that are formed in remote areas has recently become an increasingly popular subject of study among sociologists. The specific conditions of life far from large settlements and centers of power contribute to the formation of a unique everyday culture that combines preserved archaic and traditional practices of farming with some modern technologies, while also adapting elements of the material world from previous eras to meet their needs. Based on interviews with local residents, the collection and study of artifacts, and observations made during the 2025 RGO expedition along the Kolva River, the author reconstructs the social world of this community, including its structure, perception of the outside world, social interactions, and relationship with the surrounding natural landscape.
