The article presents the results of an empirical study of the personality characteristics of adolescents with different levels of resilience. Emphasizes the relevance of the study and the formation of vitality in adolescents as a component of psychological security. As a result of a comparative analysis, the assumptions about the existence of differences in the level of expression of character accentuations, mechanisms of psychological defenses, strategies of overcoming behavior in adolescents with different levels of intensity of viability were confirmed. Empirical research has shown that in adolescents with a high degree of resilience, pro-social strategies of coping behavior and activity prevail. Adolescents with low levels of resilience are distinguished by reduced mood, pessimism, fixation on the dark sides of life, unconscious transfer of a negative reaction from an inaccessible object to an available one, using impulsive and manipulative coping strategies, which in turn makes them more susceptible to stressful and extreme situations that are difficult life circumstances.
