The abuse of credit cards as a form of computer crime

Credit cards represent a modern payment method. In recent years, there have emerged and constantly evolved the various forms of the abuse of credit cards. In order to provide a more detailed analysis of this issue, the paper gives the answers to the questions concerning the way of protecting credit cards, the appearance and method of the abuse of these cards, the criminal law treatment in Republic of Serbia, some basic characteristics of the criminal offense under Article 243 of the Criminal Code, and other issues. The misuse of credit cards is only a part of computer crime, but, through it, we can determine the impact of this type of a crime on people's lives today. Although this form of criminality has recently appeared in our country, the criminal offenses from this domain are increasingly present. In the future, the fight against such a kind of crime must be continued.
