Significance of language policy in the globalized world

In modern world integration processes, the role of linguistic and cultural communities is significant due to their focus on national-cultural values, historical traditions and the protection of national interests. This article is devoted to the growing importance of the linguistic factor in world politics. The article introduces complex approach to the problem of forming the language policy of governments and determining the significance of linguistic globalization in the world. In the formation of foreign and domestic policy of the governments is taken into account a huge number of features because language is not only a vehicle of culture and determinant of national identity, but also the part which can influence on economic and political relations among the countries in the world. The article also gives the analysis of the nature of linguistic science, its main aspects and types. It focuses on the major linguistic theories and models developed to identify the relationship between the process of increasing value of the language factor in the world and globalization. The article presents the characteristic of the language policies of some countries that have undertaken various attempts in the promotion of their language in the global community due to the active spread of English language in the world.
