The importance of propaedeutics courses in architectural education (modern aspect)

The presented study proves that propaedeutic courses play a key role in the formation of architectural thinking and skills necessary for successful performance of future professional activities. Research objectives are to substantiate the importance of Bauhaus and VKHUTEMAS schools for modern architectural education, defi ne the goals and objectives of propaedeutic courses, identify common thematic sections of propaedeutic courses in modern architectural education. The goals and objectives of the propaedeutic courses are defi ned, common themes of propaedeutic courses are identifi ed. Th e article shows that propaedeutics courses play a critical role in developing architectural thinking and preparing students for a more in-depth study of the profession.
