The significance of interdisciplinary connections in the process of studying mathematical disciplines and professional modules for the formation of students’ professional competencies

The integration processes taking place in modern society lead to fundamental changes in the content of the work of specialists in various professions. The work of a modern specialist is increasingly filled with intellectual content and is built on a scientific basis. Proceeding from this, the solution of the problem of the formation of professional competencies depends on the built-in system of interdisciplinary connections. An analysis of the definitions of this concept presented in the article from literary sources shows that the main reason for such ambiguity is the multifunctional nature of these relationships. The examples presented in the article of the implementation of interdisciplinary relations of the general educational discipline “Mathematics”, general professional disciplines and professional modules in the formation of professional competencies among students in the specialty 13.02.11 Technical operation and maintenance of electrical and electromechanical equipment (by industry) were considered in integrated classes, which made it possible to highlight significant aspects in the process of formation of professional competencies.
