The article considers the solution of utilization problem of fly ash and slag wastes not only from the point of view of dangerous environmental pollution at their accumulation, but also their rational use as an alternative source of raw materials. The analitical review on utilization of the specified waste in Russia and other countries has been carried out. The prospects of using waste of heat power enterprises in the production of foamglass with a high physical and mechanical properties are considered. As a result of the conducted researches the basic possibility of receiving foamglasses is established. It is shown that ash and slag wastes utilization will allow not only to lower pressure on environment, but also to save natural mineral raw materials.
