Sound methods of teaching literacy and the visual dynamics of a number of Russian alphabets and primers in the second half of the XIX-th century

The article describes the sound synthetic method of teaching literacy and reading and writing method submitted in alphabets and primers in 60-70es of the XIX-th century, analyses their advantages and disadvantages. Also the role of visual aids in textbooks corresponding to a particular method is defined.
