The article deals with the analysis of the specific features of the representation and interpretation of the key concepts ‘death’, ‘life’, ‘God’, ‘devil’, ‘resurrection’ of the novel “The Gadfly” by E.L. Voynich. Nowadays it is necessary to read the novel with consideration to its symbolics. In the concept sphere of the text there is not only reflected the opposition of the Christian values and the revolutionary’s views, but there is also heard the warning of the dire consequences of the refusal from the Christian traditions.
