The article considers the peculiarities of adaptation of persons with disabilities in the conditions of modern Russian society. The author touches upon such an important problem as the social adaptation of disabled people. The author also considers the peculiarities of the society's attitude towards people with disabilities, the possibility of getting education by such people and their participation in sports and Paralympic games.
