Adapting Educational Content and Teaching Methods for the Moodle-Based E-Learning Environment (A Case Study of Learner Activity at the Academy of Law and Management of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia)

The aim of this study is to develop and test a methodology for adapting educational content and teaching methods for working in the Moodle electronic information and educational environment based on an analysis of the activity of students in the Faculty of Vocational Training and Continuing Professional Education of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. In writing this study, the author used the following research methods: pedagogical experimentation, statistical analysis, observation, and questionnaires. An experimental test of the effectiveness of the proposed methodology was conducted by the author at the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia with the participation of 40 students of the advanced training program, divided into a control group (CG) and an experimental group (EG) of 20 each. The main results of the study demonstrate a significant increase in learning effectiveness in the experimental group using the adaptive methodology, compared to the control group, which received traditional instruction. The author’s findings support the feasibility of implementing adaptive technologies in the professional training of penal system employees.
