Academic language in the course "Foreign language in intercultural communication" for master students in the field of law

The article examines the study of the peculiarities of the English language of science in the framework of the course “Foreign language in the field of professional communications” for master students in the field of Law. The analysis of the needs for the study of academic English, ways to implement the requirements of the educational standard within the framework of the work program of the discipline implemented at the Russian State University of Tourism and Service is carried out. The author highlights the main characteristics of the English language in the field of science and suggests ways to solve the tasks of studying the academic language in an exclusively practical course, as well as shares the experience implemented by university teachers within the framework of the discipline. The analysis of the work program of the discipline “Foreign language in the field of professional communications” for master students in the field of Law is carried out. The topic is determined, within which students get acquainted with the specifics of the English academic language. The novelty of the research is to determine the possibilities of studying the theoretical aspects of the language of science in practical classes without the use of lectures. The relevance of this work is the need for modern second-stage education in learning an academic language for communication in international scientific circles. As part of the course, it is proposed to pay attention to the annotation and linguistic analysis of existing scientific articles on jurisprudence, as well as the writing of students' own works followed by an oral presentation. The article may be of practical interest to teachers of foreign languages of higher educational institutions, as well as practitioners of a foreign language.
