Actualisation of primary taxis in modern German

Statement of the problem and research purpose. This article is devoted to the issue of actualization of the primary-taxis categorial values of simultaneity and non-simultaneity in modern German. Materials and methods. The material of this study was German utterances with prepositional deverbatives, obtained by directed sampling from the electronic database of the Leipzig National Corpus. Research results. Primary taxis values of simultaneity and non-simultaneity are actualized in the German statements with taxis prepositions of temporal semantics. Temporal-taxis (mono-temporal, inclusive-temporal) prepositions während, bei, in, mit, seit, nach, vor, bis mark the primary taxis categorial values of simultaneity, precedence, and succession. Conclusion. In the course of the study, it was found that the primary-taxis categorical values of simultaneity, precedence, and succession are actualized in statements containing deverbatives with taxis prepositions of temporal semantics während, bei, in, mit, nach, seit, vor, bis. Statements containing iterative or the phasing indicators and distributive plurality of verbal actions actualize the iterative-primary-taxis, distributive-primary-taxis, and phasal-primary-taxis categorial values of simultaneity, precedence or succession.
