Professionals working in the field of English language teaching are aware that there are a number of requirements from employers for graduates with a university degree who wish to pursue a career in their chosen field of activity. The number of these requirements, which are often narrowly professional in nature, is quite significant. The article deals with the question of some features of the formation of professional communication in the language of university students, due to the need to train future employers' specialists. The need to focus the attention of students on the development of sociocultural, sociolinguistic and discursive competence is emphasized. Russia's entry into the European educational space means that a future specialist of a particular profile needs to be aware of everything new that is happening, that is, it is being opened or intensively discussed, in the sphere of his professional or scientific interests all over the world, and also to be able to find such information, subject it to semantic processing and use in your work. All this dictates the need to revise the entire system of teaching foreign languages in higher education in general and English, which is the main language of international communication, in particular. Modern requirements for teaching English for special purposes in higher education are the need for a creative orientation of teaching, which allows the teacher to effectively show his individual style; development of initiative and creativity of students, contributing to the activation of the learning process, and the creation of favorable conditions for the co-creation of the teacher and students.
