The article focuses on the study of topical problems of the development of linguistic pedagogy in modern conditions. The relevance and significance of the research topic is substantiated. The thesis is argued that at the present stage, the primary task of a foreign language teacher is to “lay” in the competence foundation of students, as specialists of the future, critical block competencies that will enable them to be more professionally mobile and adapt faster in conditions of changing trajectory and location of labor activity (career). The author expresses the thesis that one of such critical block competencies is professional intercultural foreign language communicative competence. As a result of considering this competence from the position of linguistic pedagogy, it is concluded that two fundamental components should be involved in the linguistic pedagogical model of its formation - inter-cultural socialization and self-competence. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the theoretical elaboration of these component categories and their relaying from the point of view of the specified discipline. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that one of the main problems of the development of linguistic pedagogy in modern conditions has been identified - this is a scientifically based argumentation of the structure of intercultural foreign language communicative competence and further construction of a working linguistic pedagogical model of its formation. The importance of elaborating these issues, according to the author, lies in the fact that the lack of a stable competence foundation of a student - a future qualified specialist, can significantly reduce the chances of success in his career prospects.
