Current topics of dissertation research on reading problems

The authors present an analysis of the List of relevant topics of dissertation research in the field of "Science of education", developed according to the research directions of the passports of scientific specialties included in the group of scientific specialties "5.8 Pedagogy" of the Nomenclature of scientific specialties in 2021. The reasons for the need to include reading problems in the modern research agenda have been identified. The contradiction between the simplification of approaches in the organization of reading and the civilizational nature of reading as a social and cultural phenomenon is revealed. The necessity of theoretical development of actual problems of reading in the interdisciplinary research field and in modern pedagogy is determined. Based on the analysis of the contents of the List, positions related to reading problems have been identified. The current directions of reading research within the framework of the scientific specialty 5.8.1 General pedagogy, history of pedagogy and education are determined.
