This paper is focused on topical issues of students’ distance learning, among which the author considers the need to combine synchronous and asynchronous methods of distance learning, as well as the teachers’ willingness to use Internet technologies in order to optimize the learning process in modern conditions. Within the framework of these methods, various Internet tools are analyzed. The use of an electronic learning environment based on Moodle for asynchronous (offline) distance learning is considered. There are significant opportunities of the Zoom program for organizing video conferencing (demonstration, session halls, comments, waiting room, etc.), which should be considered in the framework of synchronous (online) distance learning. The author shows the possibility of adapting traditional pedagogical tasks to the conditions of remote work using specific examples. It also emphasizes the need for visual aids, which virtual boards can provide in a remote format. The reasons that prevent teachers from fully mastering the designated Internet technologies are noted. The author comes to the conclusion that teachers need to increase the level of IT competence to ensure the quality of distance learning and improve interaction with students, and suggests ways to solve the problem. The article presents the author's experience of remote work with foreign students studying Russian.
