Topical issues of control over the activities of local self-government bodies

The issues of control and supervision over the activities of local self-government bodies have always been of particular importance. Local self-government cannot be effective without control. At the same time, the principles of independence and control should be interrelated and balanced among themselves. No matter how perfect the laws and municipal legal acts are, it is impossible to guarantee their proper and accurate execution. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent possible cases of abuse of the right by monitoring the activities of local self-government bodies. The article considers the essence of state control over the activities of local self-government bodies. The author comes to the conclusion that only through control it is possible to achieve rational and effective activities of local self-government bodies.
