The article shows the place of the Alexandrian theological school among other schools in early Christianity (Antioch, Edesa-Nisibian, "North African"), examines its contribution to the formation of church literature (its style, genres, imagery, etc.), dogma, terminology. The facts of assimilation by representatives of this school of the scientific and theoretical heritage of Antiquity in the field of philosophy, literature, rhetoric are brought into the system. The example of quotations from the work of Clement of Alexandria demonstrates the desire of this author to combine the ancient and biblical traditions (but somewhat differently than Philo did) and to become a mentor for readers in various fields of science. One of Clement's goals was to bring about a synthesis of biblical Revelation and ancient tradition.
