Accident event tree analysis as a way to develop professional skills in occupational safety among gas transportation industry employees

The study analyzes the development of professional skills in occupational safety in gas transportation industry. A number of urgent issues in this industry are identified on the basis of the accident analysis. The modern requirements for the workers’ skills are identified. The stages of developing the basic skills in occupational safety are described. The authors present the original automated multimedia testing system in the field of occupational and industrial safety, which contributes to the development of professional skills in occupational health and safety among the employees of the gas transportation industry. The most important element of this system is the Industrial Accident Event Tree, which is a multi-level, variable system of interrelated events leading to the accident. The authors conclude that it is necessary to use the modern technologies of Education Science during the in-house training in occupational safety.
