The article deals with the current status and the perspectives of the development of the irrigation agriculture at the territory of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain and the cross-border regions. There is conducted the analysis of the dynamics of the basic cultivated areas of the municipal areas with the help of GIS-technologies. There are compiled the cartograms of the dynamics.
