Analysis of the concept “death” by the field principle (based on the novels “Gone with the wind” by Margaret Mitchell and “The road to calvary” by A. Tolstoy)

The article deals with the phenomenon of the idiomatic conceptualization of the reality in the artistic discourse. There are conducted the analysis of the concept “death” by the field principle with the revealing of the core, the conceptual features, the close and far periphery based on the chosen idiomatic units. There are identified and described the similarities and differences in the lexical filling of the concept in two different language works.
