Analysis of the curriculum provision of the Russian teacher professional development model and implications for China

The teacher professional development model is the core issue in the construction of a high-quality teacher education system, and the teacher professional development model curriculum is its important support. China and Russia have deep historical ties in education and similar geographic locations, so we explore the initiatives related to the curriculum of the Russian model in order to provide useful lessons for China. First, we explore the value orientation of the Russian model curriculum to determine the utility of the curriculum and the selection of its goals. Second, the Russian model curriculum is analyzed in three dimensions: 1) curriculum goals, 2) curriculum structure, and 3) practical curriculum. Finally, in light of the real situation of the Chinese model curriculum setting, we propose future visions of teacher professional development model such as clarifying curriculum goals, optimizing curriculum structure, and developing practical courses to promote teachers’ professional development ability and level.
