Analysis of Approaches to Identifying Key Characteristics of Preschool Children at Risk

The necessity of searching for approaches providing wide coverage of diagnostic measures for children of early and preschool age in order to identify those who should be classifi ed as a “risk group” is substantiated. The concept of “preschool children of risk group” is specifi ed. The theoretical foundations of the study are defi ned, ideas about the main psychological and pedagogical characteristics of children of the “risk group” refl ected in the scientifi c literature are identifi ed and systematized. Specifi c and general characteristics for all children of the “risk group”, approaches to the selection of diagnostic tools and the construction of programs of corrective measures are considered. A conclusion is made about the absence of systemic solutions for the diagnosis of disorders existing in preschool children of the “risk group”, the one-sided focus of correction programs. As the main psychological and psychological characteristics of the contingent under consideration, it is proposed to highlight the problems of psychomotor and socio-psychological development.
