Analysis of mineral and organic fertilizers use in agricultural enterprises of the Vologda region

The article describes the dynamics of the use of mineral and organic fertilizers in advanced farms in the Vologda region. Currently, the level of use of mineral fertilizers in the Vologda region is significantly lower than recommended standards. In physical weight, mineral fertilizers received in 2020 by agricultural enterprises of the Vologda region amounted to 28.7 thousand tons, including by type: 53% - nitrogen, 45% - complex and 2% - potassium fertilizers, which reflects the structure of fertilizer receipts in the last decade. At the same time, the use of science-based crop fertilization systems, advanced technologies, and innovative approaches contributes to obtaining grain yields at the level of 5 t/ha. In seven districts of the region: Vologoda, Gryazovets, Sheksna, Ustyuzhna, Tot’ma, Cherepovets, Veliky Ustyug 79% of all purchased fertilizers in the Vologda region were received in physical weight as the analysis shows. Thus, the leading farms of the Vologda region consistently obtain crop yields above the regional average, due to an integrated approach, including the use of mineral and organic fertilizers, for example, from 5.9% to 92.9% in the Peredovoy agricultural production complex and in the Prisukhonskoe agricultural production complex, respectively.
