Analysis of the educational robotics effectiveness in shaping the ability of younger pupils to solve design-engineering problems

The article examines the result of shaping the ability to solve design-engineering problems in younger pupils through the use of educational robotics in primary schools. According to the author, the ability to solve design-engineering problems is defined as a set of abilities to perform mental and practical actions to independently search for a solution to a design-engineering issue in order to obtain subjectively new for a student, original design-engineering solution, which consists of the following components: knowledge, skills and actions, and determines the readiness of primary school students for design-engineering activities. The aim of the study is to substantiate the effectiveness of the use of modern educational robotics, which contributes to the holistic formation of all components of skills to solve design-engineering issues in primary school students. The comparative analysis of the results of the experiment shows the effectiveness of the considered technologies of educational robotics in facilitating successful organization of classes involving design-engineering activities and full-fledged creative self-realization of younger pupils.
