The article analyzes the natural trends and measures of state support, which are aimed at the development of tourism business within the Russian Federation. The authors identify the factors that hinder development and examine what the policy of strategic implemented programs should be based on. The article provides an analysis of natural trends and measures of state support aimed at the active development of tourism business in the regions of the Russian Federation, indicating that the domestic tourist complex has a huge potential that can be realized with the support of the state and certain efforts based on competent approaches. These approaches can be implemented when transferring the tourism industry to an innovative path of development through the widespread introduction of information technologies. At the same time, an obligatory component and integrator of the complex of organizational solutions can only be the implementation of IT technologies or "digital technologies" in modern business models and the creation of highly effective business structures based on them.
