Assimilation of modern English borrowings with the -exit component in Russian political discourse

Бесплатный доступ

The article analyses peculiarities of assimilation of semantics and phonetic features of English neologisms with the -exit component (Brexit, Grexit, Nexit, Frexit, etc.) borrowed into the Russian political discourse. It is proved that the sound patterns with devoiced consonants inside these Anglocisms have more merits to be used in Russian than their opposites with the voiced ones (  breksıt vs  bregzıt/  brekzıt).
